About Darren

Darren Hayes was the singer and lyricist for Savage Garden. Almost always the face of the band, with his striking jet black dyed hair which set a perfect contrast to Daniel Jones' natural golden look, Darren thrived on the limelight and the world was his stage.
Energetic and lively, it was Darren's destiny to perform. He sang from his heart...wrote from his soul, and with his endeavours and the creative
partnership of Jones, produced infinitely successful pop melodies that stormed the charts.

Darren grew up with Savage Garden. Throughout the years he matured and so did his music. By the time Daniel had decided to leave the band, Darren's thoughts for the future had already been swimming about his mind. He had imagined eventually the band would lead to a solo career.
It came sooner than he'd expected. But after deciding on a mutual agreement with Daniel, they completed what was to be the last Savage Garden
tour together - the Affirmation tour - before Darren declared the band was on hiatus. During the next few months Darren stayed at home writing
new music...new material for his upcoming solo album. In October 2001 the truth came into being, and he announced to the fans that Savage Garden
was no longer.

The fans eagerly anticipated Darren's solo album, Spin, for which he was recording at the time. A couple of months later and the first single,
Insatiable, was released, in March 2002, sending Darren's newborn solo career into orbit. His star was sent skyrocketing at the release of his
debut solo album, Spin, which delighted old and new fans alike...setting the scene for a thriving future in music.
